What is advance provision?
Advance provision means getting abortion pills before you are pregnant, so you have them on hand if you ever need them. It's sometimes called “pills in pocket” or “pills for future use.” The FDA-approved medications used in medication abortion are stable when stored at room temperature, away from heat and moisture.
For many people, having pills already at home means they don't have to scramble during a stressful moment, worry about shipping times, or navigate access in an emergency.

Common questions
How long do the pills stay good?
FDA-approved abortion pills have a long shelf life when stored at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Your clinician will share specific expiration information with your order.
What if I never use them?
That's a perfectly good outcome. Many people order advance provision and never end up needing it — the peace of mind is the point.
What if I do need them later?
If you become pregnant and decide to use the medication, we strongly encourage you to reach out to a clinician (you can come back to Roxy) to confirm timing and instructions for your specific situation. You should never feel like you're navigating it alone.
